The Thunder Cat Tradition

History of the Thunder & The Thunder Cat Tradition

Valley Thunder Football and it's role in the community has it roots deeply entrenched in the players, coaches and volunteers that have had the conviction to use football as a vehicle to improve the lives of children in our community.

Before we were Thunder our organization was known as the Valley Panthers and we are forever grateful for the tireless hours that Brian Irvine & Edward Evans spent developing a youth football program that was more character than substance.

Many of our traditions and programs come from this lineage. One important tradition is to bring back former players who are now playing in High School, College and the Professional world to talk with and mentor our upcoming younger generation of Thunder players.

To Honor this tradition we hold the "Thunder Cat" Speech at each and every Senior Banquet in which former Thunder (Panther) players will continue to guide our players through the next stage of their lives.
